You Won't Have The Time Till You Make The Time

Having taught time management workshops for a number
of years if I had to break it down into one sentence I would
say,"You'll never find the time until you make the time."

In our fast paced I needed it yesterday world, we need to
become organized planning and then taking the necessary
actions.  So if you want to make sure you accomplish the
important activities in your day then you need to plan and
schedule them or else the activities of the day can overwhelm
you.

Becoming a proactive planning individual can help you to reduce
the stress in your life while accomplishing more in less time.
You develop the habit of proactive planning which over time helps
you to project how much time a project needs so you can better
structure your day.

Besides scheduling your time, you also need to sort your activities
between important vs urgent activities. The important activities don't
need your immediate attention  but they are the activities that produce
your greatest results. Each day is a constant struggle of what to do first.
But remember your important activities will give you your greatest
return for your investment of time.

Some examples of important high payoff activities can be setting goals,
networking, in sales, making contact with potential customers, planning
or any activity that leads you to achieving your objective.

While urgent activities give the appearance of demanding our immediate
attention.  They are activities like ringing telephone, stacks of messages or
mail, someone walking into your office they're urgent but we don't  know if
they're important.

By focusing on the important activities of your day, you will find you're
getting more done in less time but  it all starts with making time for your
important activities.
